Bobby "Super Mallow" Maclennan - 7/2/03

7 years ago, you and Squaresoft made their final game for the Super Nintendo: Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Today, your company and Squaresoft are back together, so why not make Super Mario RPG on Game Boy Advance? You have ported old classics like Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario World, and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island - So why not make a port of Super Mario RPG? You are now also remaking Super Mario Bros. 3 - And Super Mario RPG should be next. Now that your company and Squaresoft are back together, you guys should ask for a license from Squaresoft to make a port of Super Mario RPG. On the internet, there are all kinds of petitions and other things like Messageboards and Chat Rooms dedicated to Super Mario RPG - still running 7 years after the games release date. I don't know if this is true, but I've heard that your company remade The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time only because 400 people E-Mailed you guys for a remake on Gamecube. It might not be true, but if it is, then you guys should definitely remake Super Mario RPG because I know that there are over 400 people pulling for a remake. In fact, there are over 5000. Also, you should remake it so younger generations can play this game. For instance, my younger brother (3 years younger) never like video games when Super Mario RPG was released. 2 years later, I let him play some of my Super Nintendo games including Super Mario RPG. After that, he started to like video games - and Super Mario RPG was his favorite. He liked it some much, that 1 month ago be bought a used Super Nintendo for 40$ just to play Super Mario RPG. Personally, I think Super Mario RPG has the best Storyline and Characters (Especially Geno and Mallow) along with the best music. If you do remake it, I think it would be a big hit because it will reintroduce new twists and turns to the Mario series, because you really, truly haven't had one for a while. Super Mario Sunshine had little twists, but the storyline was the same in most Mario games - to save Princess Peach. People who haven't played it will get to see new things like the characters Geno and Mallow, Bowser on your team, Princess Peach not having to be rescued, Princess Peach fighting on your team, a new main bad guy (Smithy), a new style of Mario games (3/4 perspective view), and a completely different storyline with many little storylines along the way (Mallow finding his parents). Super Mario RPG also might help people understand Paper Mario a little bit more (Such as Quizmo's 64th question: How many Star Spirits have you saved in total? Answer: 14 - You would have to play Super Mario RPG to know about the other 7) Super Mario RPG could do wonders for the Game Boy Advance, and would help sell the upcoming game Mario & Luigi - only because it is a sequel to Super Mario RPG. Chances are very good people would buy Mario & Luigi if they liked Super Mario RPG - So if it was released it might help because Super Mario RPG is the best game ever. I know that it will take time and money - But remaking the other games did to - So why not make Super Mario RPG? Super Mario RPG has also given me my best memories - me and my best friend would always play it. The reason I said memories was because I moved. If you do remake Super Mario RPG, it might also help in the future. For instance, if you remake it, you could use some of the enemies or bosses from it in any other Mario Game. You could also use the style of play and also some of the characters (Geno and Mallow should be in another Mario game). Levels and music should be put in other Mario games. Using anything from Super Mario RPG would put a twist on any future Mario game and would probably make it better. If your company did remake Super Mario RPG, I think it would help a lot in the sales of Game Boy Advance products. Also, in issue No. 168 of Nintendo Power, the picture that won the monthly art contest was of Super Mario RPG - Showing that Super Mario RPG is still alive and that people still like it. This game would obviously sell if people like it right? And since people do, and your company wants to make money from video game sales, why not make it - That way both sides would benefit. There are over 5000 people, all hoping for a remake, who would buy this game - That would make your company 150,000$ if the game is priced at 30$ with no Sales Tax. With sales tax, it would give you 159,000$. And remember, these are only the people who signed the petition - there would be hundred of thousands of more people. Also, if you remake Super Mario RPG, you should release it also in Europe. Europe never got to see this masterpiece and it would make your sales skyrocket. Europe would be a perfect target for a remake, along with the United States of course. Super Mario RPG would also show Super Nintendo's best graphics. A Super Mario RPG remake would have a chance of having the best graphics on the Game Boy Advance. If your company ported a remake of Super Mario RPG, you would also make a lot of money off strategy guides. Super Mario RPG has so many secrets - More than any other game I've played or heard of. For instance, I found Grate Guy's Casino in the summer of 2002 - A secret I found after having the game for 6 years. A remake would also sell guides. And let's not forget all the levels of Super Mario RPG. If you remake this game, video gamers would have a challenge in every level - Especially because there are so many secrets in them and the are very long (Most of them). There is a huge world and a great variety of levels. Both Super Mario RPG and Nintendo 64 came out in 1996, but since Nintendo 64 was a new system and Super Mario RPG was only a new game, Nintendo 64 got more popularity over Super Mario RPG. If you remake it, it would be a big seller and gain more popularity because there isn't anything big like Nintendo 64 or any new system in it's way. Mario fans everywhere might not of heard of Super Mario RPG because of the release on Nintendo 64, but a remake they would probably buy because they would know that they missed it on Super Nintendo. If your going to make a remake on any Mario game in the future, it should definitely be Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.
