It's been 4 years now - 4 years since Sotss
started the Super Mario RPG Remake Campaign.
Sotss started a petition to bring a remake of
Super Mario RPG to the Game Boy Advance. At the
time, the Super Mario Advance series was still
being developed from remakes of older SNES
games, so a Super Mario RPG remake looked like
it could happen |

years later, Smrpg Legacy came along and helped
with the remake campaign. We also supported the
petition and eventually it got 15,000 signatures
shortly after this site was put on the Web.
Smrpg Legacy also started sending letters to
Nintendo and trying to encourage others to do so |

Now we're not really going for the Game Boy
Advance anymore. Most people are more interested
in getting a remake on the Nintendo DS. At the
time, the DS was not yet announced and the GBA
already had all the remakes from old Super
Nintendo games. We hope now that Super Mario RPG
will be remade on the DS |

Currently, both sites host the petition.
However, Sotss has basically closed and doesn't
really try to expand the remake campaign. Smrpg
Legacy has also sent letters to Square-Enix and
we've tried to alert bigger gaming media sources
about it. We've also created a separate forum at
the messageboard to try and generate some ideas
on how to get this game remade |
