Well, it is looking more and more like the
Paper Mario Ds rumor is true. A very few
sites are reporting that a soon-to-be
Nintendo of Japan press release will confirm
it.
However, others are saying that
CoroCoro Magazine will be the one to break
the news. So, there's some conflicting news
there, but both are pointing to it being
true.
It's looking like we will be seeing Paper
Mario Ds. If these are actually
confirmations, which I personally will wait
for Nintendo's, then the game is slated for
July in Japan. We may not even have to wait
very long for this game to come!
More Paper Mario DS News
Posted by Super Mallow on 4.16.08
Smrpg Legacy has just gotten word back from
Nintendo about the rumored Paper Mario DS
(See the announcement below)
At this
point, Paper Mario DS is just a rumor. They
are aware of the rumors but have not
announced anything yet. Of course, they did
not say that it was not a possibility
either.
So basically, it's a pretty standard
email that's saying "we can't tell you."
Hopefully we'll get a confirmation soon, or
a denial so we know that it is not a rumor
that is spreading
Paper Mario DS Rumored
Posted by Super Mallow on 4.16.08
I let the last update run longer on purpose,
though I did not mean for it to run for as
long as it did. With that said, there's some
big news!
Paper Mario DS has been rumored.
Apparently, it would be a direct port from
the original Paper Mario for the Nintendo
64. It's like having the Virtual Console
game on your DS! However, at this point, it
is only rumored for release in Korea, not
America, Japan, Europe, or Australia.
Well, I shouldn't say that. A Korean
website has the rumor, but I have heard the
story both ways. We can only hope it comes
out everywhere!
Now, it's just a rumor. As always, I've
emailed Nintendo in hopes for confirmation
of the story. But wouldn't this not only be
ironic, but also awesome? We can't manage to
get a remake of Super Mario RPG, but yet,
we'd already have two remakes to the
original Paper Mario. That would be
something.
But don't get me wrong, it's a good
thing. Paper Mario was an awesome game, and
it would be great to have it on the DS. It
could mean we're just getting closer and
closer to Super Mario RPG, but I'm sure many
of us will take this either way!
Let's hope it's true and that it will
come out everywhere!
This is Our Chance
Posted by Super Mallow on 3.25.08
For 5 years we've tried to get either a
Super Mario RPG remake or sequel. I've
recently given 100 reasons why there needs
to be one. And now, we might have a chance.
Nintendo Power, May 2008 has said the
following:
"Wanted! What
classic games do you want to see come to the
Virtual Console? Send us up to five picks
(only for systems currently represented on
the Virtual Console) at
vcpoll@futureus.com.
We'll print the results in an upcoming
issue. Note This is for polling purposes
only, and will in no way determine future
Virtual Console releases"
This is our
chance to literally show them how much a
remake or sequel of Super Mario RPG is
wanted. They are ASKING for it this time. In
fact, we actually asked Nintendo one time to
poll people on Nintendo.Com to see
their reaction to a potential Super Mario
RPG remake at one point. We need to send
them a ton of emails about this
This is a great opportunity, it truly is.
I know that Super Mario RPG fans are some of
the most passionate fans about the game, so
let's give them something to think about. I
don't care if you send 1 email or 100 emails
to them, or if you tell 1 other person or
1000 other people, this is perhaps the
biggest chance we've ever had at this.
This is our time, it truly is. I will be
trying to spread this like wildfire, so I
hope there are many out there who will do
the same. Let's do it, let's show them why
Super Mario RPG is one of the greatest games
of all time and why it needs to come back.
That is the scan. It was

100 Reasons to Create a Super Mario RPG
Sequel or Remake
Posted by Super Mallow on 3.25.08
For those who are faint at heart, this is
not for you: I actually wrote a piece of
game content for the site. Surprise?
I was
inspired to write a quite extensive article
about Super Mario RPG that I call "100
Reasons to Create a Super Mario RPG Sequel
or Remake" for many reasons, but
mainly because I've just been urging to want
to play Super Mario RPG again lately. I've
also just had a lot of Smrpg-related emails
and such lately.
This article is actually quite precise. I
was very happy with the result and I think a
lot of Super Mario RPG will be as well. It
really shows you why there needs to be a
sequel, or at minimum, a remake to
re-experience it in a different medium.
I put the article in a Microsoft Word
document - it's 9 pages long single spaced.
Obviously, I've put a lot of time into it -
ordering the list, commenting on the list,
and selecting the list. In all, it took me
over 6 hours, more around 7. It's quite a
quick read though, so do not let the length
scare you. I'd really appreciate any
comments on it, because I really tried to
embody the essence of what makes Super Mario
RPG great.
Updating / Dead Affiliates Remove
Posted by Super Mallow on 3.23.08
I apologize for not updating in 11 days.
I've been sidelined with all kinds head
problems including migraines, tension
headaches, cluster headaches, ear pressure,
ear ache, sinuses, sinus colds, dizziness +
vertigo, nausea, and night terrors / sleep
apnea-insomnia like effects for about a 3-4
weeks. I wasn't very motivated to work on
the site, nor Super Mario Legacy.
I'm just
updating to let everyone know that I've gone
through all me emails and responded and have
posted any submissions given. I have also
removed all the affiliates that either were
dead or who dropped us.
I've been receiving a ton of questions
lately on the games - I love that, I really
do. I'm open to answering all the game
questions to the best of my ability. There's
been a lot of the Japanese version of Super
Mario RPG lately, as well as Paper Mario:
The Thousand Year Door.
No news to report in regards to the
potential Super Mario RPG Ds Remake / Super
Mario RPG Ds Sequel. I keep asking questions
but am not getting answers. Nintendo and
Square-Enix with their secret ways!
Further Forest Maze Clarification / Smrpg in
Brawl!
Posted by Super Mallow on 3.12.08
Ack! I said something wrong in the last
update. Well, not so much wrong, I just
didn't clarify something.
Anyways, it's
true that the song in the Youtube video is
not a new version put in for Super Smash
Bros. Brawl. What I should've said that the
specified song, as far as I know, was
never in Brawl. A lot of people are
saying it's a quote "lost track" and
removed. As far as we know, it was never in
it - this version especially.
Other than that, Super Mario RPG was
finally found in Brawl. The amazing thing?
Well, it's mentioned in the Chronicle
section as a title for the Super Nintendo.
Hooray, I guess. That better not be all the
new-Smrpg stuff we get after all our work!
So About That Forest Maze Thing... / Paper
Bowser!
Posted by Super Mallow on 3.7.08
Just wanted to post about the supposed
"Forest's Mushrooms" song in Super Smash
Bros. Brawl, Aka Forest Maze from Super
Mario RPG. A lot of people have said that
the following song was in Brawl and was
removed:
That's nice and
such...except for one thing: That is not a
new version of Beware the Forest's
Mushrooms. In fact, it's a remix off a Super
Mario RPG Arranged Album. Someone has just
been passing it off as remix that once was
in Brawl.
Outside of that, a Paper
Bowser trophy has been spotted in Brawl!
No More Geno
Posted by Super Mallow on 3.1.08
This update actually broke a week ago, but I
wanted the 5,000,000 page views update to
stay up for a bit. Otherwise, I would've had
it earlier.
Anyways, as most of the Smash
Bros fans out there already know, there will
be no such thing as Geno in Super Smash
Bros. Brawl. Sakurai himself stated that
there will be no downloadable characters or
anything. The only thing related to Brawl
that is Super Mario RPG related was the
track "Forest's Mushrooms" which was
removed.
So, that killed anything we had going for
us. Now we'll just have hope for more Super
Mario RPG news otherwise
Five Million Page Views
Posted by Super Mallow on 2.20.08
5,000,000 Page Views
Let me repeat:
5,000,000 Page Views.
I totally forgot about checking stats
over the last few months that I almost
missed it! There was a time when we were
averaging 150,000 views a month, or about
5,000 views a day. It continued through 2007
till about September and has since dropped,
which is why we didn't reach it in the end
of 2007.
In all seriousness though, I am literally
in shock. With the site now being updated
again, I've naturally gone back and looked
at what we once were in the past, and
realized, when I started this, 100 total
people would've been a success to me. It
truly is amazing that I can say 5,000,000
times a page has been loaded.
1,000,000 is something to be proud of,
but 5 times that? Impeccable and
unthinkable.
Naturally, and cliche, I have to give my
thanks to those who continue to support us.
I know that last little while hasn't been
the most exciting thing ever with hardly any
new content - so much so that those who I
know the best online don't even check the
site anymore. It's been tough with Sml, but
using that as an excuse is just a pathetic
attempt on my part. Actually, I correlated
this update with the knowledge that
Super Mario Legacy
has also reached 1,000,000 page views!
...I seriously do not have the words
right now. We were fading for a bit and have
started to come back. One day we will reach
where we were, and we'll even pass that to
make us even better. Really though, it's
cliche, I know, but I do thank the fans,
because we really wouldn't be here without
them. They've supported us with the remake,
with the sequel, and when we started trying
to get Geno/Mallow in Super Smash Bros.
Brawl nearly 2 years ago, and we hope
they'll continue to do so in the future.
Slim Chance For Geno?
Posted by Super Mallow on 2.19.08
Just when there's no news, there is news!
It turns out, there may, may be a small
chance for Geno's appearance in Super Smash
Bros. Brawl, based on a recent rumor to come
out. Remember how that missing track was
found on the disc that translated to
"Forest's Mushrooms"? Well, it wasn't the
only one: Mewtwo's and Roy's Victory Themes
were on there was well. Apparently, the
month delay was to add them in
A couple hours ago, it was reported, and
this is just a rumor, that Mewtwo and Roy
will be in the American and PAL versions of
Brawl, and will be downloadable in Japan. It
was reported by someone who apparently, has
been reporting information on the Advance
Wars series and has always been accurate,
even before the company even says so.
Well, Advance Wars is made by Intelligent
Systems, which makes Fire Emblem (And Paper
Mario!), which is where Roy originates from.
So, it is not out of the question that Roy
would appear.
What further complicates this is the
rumor of Geno's removal, as stated weeks
ago. Since this rumor says that the month
delay was to add characters, who knows, Geno
could be one of them. True that it goes the
other way from his removal to his addition,
but it would justify the month delay. Japan
did not have the delay we did.
Yes, I realize that's just me talking as
a Geno fan, but hey, I'll take what I can
get. It would make sense that if Roy and
Mewtwo are in with their themes, Geno would
represent the "Forest's Mushrooms" track.
But, the more important part may be that
Roy and Mewtwo would be downloadable,
because if they are, the door is always open
for Geno and other characters.
So, it's kind of iffy right now, but the
rumor may be true since it comes from an
apparent reliable source. The only thing
that doesn't support it is that Geno's
information was not found on the disc, where
as other character's information was, such
as Dixie Kong (She was actually my second
choice behind Geno!). That would mean that
if we do get extra characters, they are much
more likely.
Very interesting stuff indeed. There's a
slim chance, but it's a chance nonetheless.
We'll keep ya posted!
Affiliates Removed
Posted by Super Mallow on 2.19.08
No update in a week!?! Hopefully we're not
falling into our old spell again...
I
don't have much for this one, just wanted to
say that all of the affiliates that either
didn't link us anymore or weren't active
have been taken down. There were like 4 or 5
that were removed, mostly due to the fact
that they hadn't updated in forever.
Other than that, there isn't much news!
Drastic Change In Smrpg Support
Posted by Super Mallow on 2.11.08
The last few days have been very positive in
terms of the site. I really appreciate all
those who took time to read the last 2
updates and email me on it, whether it was
positive or negative.
In some Super Smash
Bros. Brawl news, we were "close" to
obtaining a Forest Maze sample that was
supposedly in Brawl. Turns out one of my
informants, who I know well online, got the
Mp3 from a source that played a trick on
him. It was just a fan remix. Not the
greatest news, but it is what it is.
In the meantime, there's been all kinds
of crazy-ridiculous (yes, I just said
crazy-ridiculous) support for a Super Mario
RPG Remake/Sequel. Lot of renewed fan
interest since we found out that there is no
Smrpg representation in Brawl. I've been
receiving lots of offers for help and
support.
At this current point in time, there's
not a whole lot we can do, and let me
explain why. First off, the rumored sequel
still has not been disproving, and provoking
it can either go positively or badly.
Secondly, the idea that Square-Enix might
want to bring a remake to the Ds is a
situation we just have to wait on and see
how it unfolds.
That, and we need to further create a
strong base for a sequel/remake push. We've
completely backed off of it for the last few
months. That's why Super Mario RPG Sequel
closed - no one was particularly interested
and we couldn't get enough support.
With all the said, I'm up for another run
with support. It's pointless otherwise. We
can push it again and if support becomes
big, I may consider re-creating SmrpgSequel.
All up to how bad fans want it, and what
everyone is willing to do in order to get it
Forest Maze In Brawl? (Smrpg-Ssbb Link?)
Posted by Super Mallow on 2.8.08
More and more news is coming out. I had this
story earlier today, but was a bit hesitant
with it. This could potentially be big
news for the rumor of Geno's removal in
Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
We all know
that the first layer of the Super Smash
Bros. Brawl disc has been ripped. Recently,
someone has ripped the disc for it's music,
including tracks that apparently, do not
appear in the game.
One of these tracks is titled "Mori no
kinoko" which translates to "Forest's
Mushrooms." The translation was provided by
my good-online friend ViolaGirl23 who has
studied Japanese, so it's accurate.
What does this mean? The track is
apparently no longer in the game. Well,
think of a Mario game that has a forest as a
main area. There are 4: Super Mario RPG,
Paper Mario, Paper Mario 2, Mario & Luigi 2.
However, Mario RPG's is actually called
Forest Maze, And the song on the official
soundtrack is called "Beware the Forest's
Mushrooms" - the last 2 words matching
exactly to the supposed track.
What further complicates it is this Geno
rumor. If Geno were to be in it, his stage
presumably would be Forest Maze, since that
is where he first appeared and where the
story of the Star Pieces unfolded. Geno IS
associated with the Forest Maze.
That, and the Forest Maze is known for
Mushrooms and nothing else. Mushrooms are
apparent throughout the level and can be
obtained through touching them. They also
can be used in another location in the game
(Seaside Town) to get powerful items.
But, there's more. This missing track was
listed immediately after a Mario & Luigi
track, which may mean it is from Toadwood
Forest in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.
That level is very similar to the one in
Super Mario RPG, because players can go down
tree-stumps to get treasure boxes.
With the last updates, which dramatically
strengthened the Geno rumor (read it if you
haven't), this is further concluding that he
may have at one point been in the game.
Oh yeah, and one other thing. About a
week ago, I contacted Nintendo over the Geno
thing. Well, I do that a lot...most of the
time they respond right away. Other times,
well, they wait awhile. While I never
said it here publicly on the site, the last
time they delayed a response, the did not
deconfirm the Super Mario RPG Sequel that
was rumored. As far as I know, which I am
actually quite sure of, we are the only ones
who have a statement from Nintendo that does
not deconfirm the sequel as of now
Maybe they'll give us some news on this,
if it follows the same pattern in responses.
We can only wait and see, but more and more,
it seems like Geno may have been in Super
Smash Bros. Brawl.
Let The Sparks Fly (Site/Geno News)
Posted by Super Mallow on 2.7.08
FALCOOOONNNN POSTTTTTT
This is going to be
a lengthy update, but it's a good read. It
will only make sense if it is read all
the way through. Those at Smashboards,
Gamefaqs, IGN, GoNintendo (not the staff,
posters), etc. may want to pay extremely
close attention. If you do not read it
all the way through, it will lead one to
think the wrong way. I know it's long, I
understand that. If I could make this update
shorter, I would, but I cannot. It is, in
fact, the longest single update in terms of
text I have ever written for any site.
Let's start this update with a little
story. Obviously, with all the Smrpg news
lately, I often go around the 'net looking
for stories or insight of any kind. Any
webmaster or fan of a game/series does, it's
a very common thing to do. Especially with
the whole Geno and Super Smash Bros. Brawl
thing. Yup, it's a pretty important to some
people.
So I write about it here and what not, I
think that's what anyone in my position
would do. Of course, news is viral, meaning
that it spreads like a wildfire. In less
than a day, the news of Geno's supposed
removal from Brawl hits quickly, and it hits
hard.
Now, I must interrupt our little
story-telling to point one thing out. Yes,
when I updated with the news, I intended for
it to be a joke. But, not the whole update.
Just the fake movesets -- I figured people
that saw the Landmaster Tank would see that
the moves were fake. I didn't clarify until
the next day, so I apologize for that, but
it was clarified. Either way, we
still had the news first. I used the word
credit, and even though I thought it was a
mistake afterwards, I still stand by what I
said.
So, anyways, back to the story. With the
news spreading quickly, I read all kinds of
place's opinions. Generally through posters
making comments or making a thread at a
message board of some type. I find some
interesting posts, generally they are one of
two things - People either hate the idea of
his removal, or they respond with something
like the following (I quote/paraphrase
these):
"The guy who started this with his Mario
RPG site now only believes it because bigger
sites have started to post it after he made
it up"
"The rumor actually started at Smrpg
Legacy as a joke. That site does it a lot,
they make up stuff and spread lies"
"It's not possibly true. I will not point
out the original flaws of the site that
started this rumor again" (Quote in response
to poster who made a topic about the news
after a similar thread was posted at a
message board)
And so on. Pretty interesting, especially
to me. I'm looking around thinking, what the
heck? When have we made something up where
we've not stated that it was a joke? When
have we started a rumor about something?
That lead me to create an update a few
days ago about our supposed "Credibility
Issues." It's a long update, but here's the
short of it: Smrpg Legacy never has created
a news story that is not true unless it was
a random, current joke or an April 1 joke.
When we have, such as the Landmaster Tank
joke, we have stated that it was a joke.
We've done so every single time.
Another credibility issue is that we make
rumors up. Well, let's get real here for a
second. Super Mario RPG is a game that come
this May, will be 12 years old. That's a
long time. News around that game doesn't
come up very often, though has in recent
times. In fact, I'm honestly think it is
because of us as fans and or efforts. So, we
report a lot of rumors that go around,
because that's the actual news. The fact of
the matter is, we always state when the
update or news is a rumor or confirmed. If
we do NOT have a confirmation, we do NOT
state it as confirmed. We check all our
stories for confirmation before saying they
are confirmed
With that information, we turn to the
comments being made about the site (that
were mentioned earlier) and about the Geno/Square-Enix
Brawl Delay. Shortly after we posted it,
GotFrag
posted the news story as well. All of a
sudden, people started to deem the news
credible since they had it, except for those
who made similar comments to those above,
which was many.
GoNintendo
posted it that same day, and all of a
sudden, the news becomes more credible,
while somehow, we become less credible.
And, honestly, that's when I got
frustrated with the fans. But, now, we can
let the sparks fly and clear all of our
credibility issues, right here and right
now. I think this is the part that all those
critics will like best.
After the story was posted on GotFrag, I
naturally contacted with them. Recently, I
got a reply. I got in touch with the Editor
In Chief of the site, as well as with the
writer of the story. The importance of it?
Well, that's quite simple.
GotFrag did not get the story from
Smrpg Legacy. In fact, the writer had
not even seen Smrpg Legacy prior to my
contacting them. GotFrag obtained the
same story in a completely independent way.
Obviously, that is big news for the
following reasons:
1. It means that the rumor was not
started by us - As I've said time
and time again, we don't start rumors, we
just report them and state that they are
indeed rumors
2. It means that we are credible and
always have been - When a site has a
news story and other sites get the same one,
something's got to give. This same rumor
coming a different way shows that what we
reported was an actual rumor out there and
solidifies our credibility. Since we now
know we don't make up rumors or stories and
have been on top of the news in an accurate
sense all these years, I can safely say we
are 100% credibible.
3. The rumor itself may have some life
and has ramifications on the Smrpg/Ssb
realms - If both of us are credible,
which we are, and come up with the same news
story in different, independent ways,
then there might actually be some life in
the rumor. It may be possible that it is
actually true in itself, though unless a
company can confirm it, it remains a rumor.
Unlike yesterday, we all now have a basis to
judge the rumor differently
4. It just goes to show you... -
Perception and reality are very, very
different. Many people now have a huge doubt
in their mind about the site because of some
people who made claims with no pre-existing
knowledge, and that's just not fair to us.
It costs us credibility, it costs us
visitors, it costs us possible affiliation
deals, etc. Do you know how many visitors we
lost to GotFrag and GoNintendo because of
this?
5. No one ever asked - Not one of
the people who made negative comments
bothered to contact us and tried to find out
what we meant or how we went about getting
the news. I can understand why a regular
poster wouldn't do such a thing, because,
honestly, I wouldn't either if a site posted
something. But, at the same time, I would
only make negative comments that ACTUALLY
affects the credibility of a site if the
site had a history of credibility issues,
which we do not. People are now just
blindly making remarks. If a site has a
history, one has the right to infer on
the credibility of story. That does not
apply to us.
6. You must recover! - Yes, that's
a line taken from the Smash Bros. Dojo site
for one of their updates, but it's the
truth. Somehow, we need to recover our
credibility and our visitors because of
these claims. How do you suppose we do that?
It's going to now take a lot of time and a
lot of news stories to fix our issues,
because even with this confirmation from
GotFrag, people's words get around quickly
on the Internet.
Obviously, there's some major fallout
from the last 2 weeks that will do nothing
but negatively effect us, and then there
will be a slow, gradual uprising once more,
or so we hope. In the meantime, I've been
in contact with Nintendo about the rumor,
because like I said earlier, we do it
right. I try to get everything and
anything I can confirmed via Nintendo for
every major news story, including the
latest remake and sequel news relevant to
Super Mario RPG. Other people have
doubted us with that, despite the fact that
an actual magazine had the rumor and so did
other major sites.
Nintendo, obviously, has not responded
yet with an answer, in terms of the Square-Enix
Brawl Delay.
From here, we take the rumor in one way:
It's a rumor, but it may have a leg to stand
on. Multiple sources, as you have now seen,
have reported on it, and it's becoming quite
large. It is now a reality that Square-Enix
may have possibly had a role in Super
Smash Bros. Brawl at one point, but that is
something we'll have to wait and see. This
Geno-Brawl relationship seems to not want to
vanish, so we need to still find out if
there indeed is or was an interlink between
them.
In the meantime, I know I'll be getting a
lot of message on this update - perfectly
fine. I'd actually rather have a lot of
people react positively or negatively to
this update. If you have any comments, feel
free to send them, because at this point, I
really would appreciate any comments on the
stories that have been floating around or
the site itself.
We'll keep you posted on the latest news,
just as we always have. I'm not
letting these people get in the way of our
mission with the site. In the words of Greg
Oden (Portland Trailblazer's injured rookie
center) from the ESPN The Magazine
commercial:
"Boom"
Mm, What You Say? All That You Ever
Wanted...
Posted by Super Mallow on 2.7.08
The title of the update is taken from the
lyrics of the song "Hide and Seek" by Imogen
Heap for those who don't know...
Anyways,
it's late Thursday. Tomorrow will be a BIG
day for Geno in Brawl news. I think you'll
want to check it out.
Oh, and all those who have been putting
down the site over the last 2 weeks, you
guys might want to check it the most.
Friday: Mid-day
Super Bowl...And Some Geno News...
Posted by Super Mallow on 2.3.08
Well, the Super Bowl was just played. 17-14,
Giants over Patriots!
That has absolutely
nothing to do with the site does it? Nope.
Neither will the video at the end of this
update. There'll be some actual Mario RPG
news, but that's after the following update
on the Super Bowl!
There was an incredibly awesome
commercial: A Night at the Robxury-Themed
Pepsi Max commercial. Man was that awesome.
For those who weren't around 4 years ago, A
Night at the Roxbury is my favorite move
ever made, and it was actually where the
original Hidden Page on the site was in
terms of getting to it. The Hidden Page
itself was themed after the movie, and all
those who knew me then knew how much I loved
the movie. The video of the commercial is at
the end of this post.
And now on to the actual-site relevant
news: Geno, Brawl, Delays, Rumors, Square-Enix,
whatever. Ok, so I went a little overboard 2
updates ago and used the word "Credit" in
the post...that was my mistake and I realize
that, though I still feel the same way. I
will say this though for those who think
they know everything (I'm looking at you
Smashboards/Gamefaqs Boards/Ign Boards): You
have to read EVERYTHING and then make some
comments about us. First off, our story and
GoNintendo's/GotFrag's is different - never
have I said Geno was number one on the list
of wanted characters. The forum members at
Super Mario Legacy can back that claim up;
This whole time I've said Geno was THIRD.
Actually, Smashboards somehow agrees with me
on that. Irony, isn't it? Or did they just
forget that and wanted to say something
else?
Secondly, I never said anything about the
Random box. Along with that, the whole idea
of the "confirmations" in the other 2
articles, Ie Imdb, are completely different
than what we've said here. I did mention
Imbd, in which all I said his voice was
listed in there and that I actually didn't
know the credibility of Imdb.
Seriously though, read something, I don't
like to criticize fans but at the same time,
I don't expect the absolute disrespect we've
been getting. Check sources, read
thoroughly, I don't care: just get it right.
That brings me to this story in general.
We didn't start it, someone else did -- and
I know that to be true, but I'm not going to
give people the opportunity to rip this
other site, so I will keep that quiet,. I
do, on the other hand, have some news to
this situation. Granted, it is not big, but
it will help shed some light on it.
And that news will NOT be posted right
now. Yes, I like to be the first site with
anything - any gaming site would. But with
all the problems people are giving us, I'm
holding off on it. It could be posted
tomorrow, it could be posted next week, it
may never be posted. I'll let the fans'
reactions and statements determine when
things will come out. If Nintendo will get
back to me on something I've found, then
everything would be perfect, but I haven't
gotten word from them yet after I contacted
them about an issue.
And that's all I'm going to say about the
issue for right now. Enjoy the video:
Brambles Mp3
Posted by Super Mallow on 2.2.08
No update on Geno or anything to do with
that situation today. I'm just going to
leave it at that right now and am not going
to provoke anything.
But, I will still go
one my random Brambles-FanBoy like rant.
Still my favorite song of all time, I just
wanted to post a high quality game rip of
the song. It can be found at the link below
and will start playing at about 5 seconds
after the initial introduction music. I
still don't think the remix is all the
great, just for the fact that they took the
whole middle of the song out and replaced it
with their own melody. They only really did
the beginning and the end, but I will give
props to the ending part, it's very, very
nice.
(Nope, couldn't resist: Nintendo still
hasn't responded on the Geno issue)
Geno May Have Been In Brawl
Posted by Super Mallow on 1.31.08
Please read this update and read it
carefully
These are the kind of updates I
look at and think, wow, I need to stop
working on Fansites and get on with my life.
Quick timeline here: Brawl's announced in
2006. September 2007, I reported Square-Enix
was going to be involved with Brawl. January
30, 2008: Everything is leaked, No Geno.
January 31, 2008: After 5 months of getting
slammed for saying Square-Enix was in Brawl,
I reported here that he possibly may have
been in it and then was taken out, causing
the delay-- I did end up turning the second
part into a joke with the Landmaster Tank.
Anyways, now there is a rumor that Geno
was indeed in Brawl and taken out, causing a
delay. Does that sound familiar?
GoNintendo.Com reported it, so people are
taking is much more seriously than when I
said it yesterday....or a while ago. Where
the rumor originated from is in question
Now, hear me out: It's a rumor. It's not
confirmed, and I could still be 100% wrong I
get that. But I have to stop and wonder why
I keep receiving comments about how we lie
and stuff and have no credibility...but then
GoNintendo reports and it all of a sudden
people can accept it as a bonified rumor. I
know GoNintendo is larger and stuff, but
even if that is the case, why are people
just absolutely slamming me over the initial
report?
Anyways, it's probably just me being a
little ticked for at least not getting
credit for having it a day (or 5 months)
earlier. I probably am overacting, but after
all the credibility issues (please read the
last update posted earlier today, our
credibility is actually extremely high,
though perception may not be; it's in
there), we finally have a story first and
people are just straight calling me a liar.
I already know this post will probably
backfire on me 'cause it probably won't be
confirmed, but I'm willing to take this risk
because I just think that it's wrong for
people to kill me over something I said and
that when another person says it, they
embrace it. All I can leave you guys with is
that I guess a lot of people don't believe
us anymore. What their reasoning is baffles
me, but I guess that's the general
perception for some odd reason
Smrpglegacy's Credibility Issues
Posted by Super Mallow on 1.31.08
With all the news floating around about the
all-of-a-sudden mass revival in Mario RPG
interest, there's always something wrong
with someone. While I don't tend to think
differently on that, I do want to point out
a few things. There will be some spoilers
It's the end of the month, so I checked my
webstats and saw all the sites that are
linking in, a lot of them forums because
they've been posting the link to the
homepage. Some of it though I find very
disturbing, mainly those who are claiming
the credibility of our source, mainly
through Geno in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. and
a potential Super Mario RPG remake.
And I want to set them straight. First,
let's tackle the Geno in Brawl thing. At
this point, no, he's not in there.
Unfortunate, but that's what we know at this
time. And yes, for a while, I did do a lot
of claiming to the idea of Square-Enix being
involved. Well, I didn't back off it then
and I won't back off it now: For those who
read or heard about it, the report was
posted on
Super Mario Legacy,
my other site. If you look on the homepage
right now of Super Mario Legacy, you'll see
there's an update regarding the Brawl report
and how it came to be. I figured that the
people that heard about it from Super Mario
Legacy would actually follow up with it
since that's the site it actually
represents.
As far as a few updates ago -- if there
is a rumor of any kind, we're reporting it.
And if it's a rumor, I have personally
stated that it is a rumor. I've done so over
and over again and will continue to do so.
The Geno update, if one reads it thoroughly,
was a joke. Geno's Final Smash Landmaster
Tank? C'mon, really? Of course not, that's
what made it obvious. The Landmaster Tank
joke has hit other places besides here.
Now for the Super Mario RPG Ds remake and
sequel. No, we're not lying, it's out there
as news right now. The sequel has never been
denied when I asked Nintendo about it since
it surfaced in RPG Magazine. The Super Mario
RPG Ds Remake was something talking about in
IGN's Podcast "Wii-K In Review" Episode 43.
It's at 55:45 in the podcast - listen to it
yourself. There's a discretion in it's
meaning, but I called it how I heard it. As
for as the potential confirmation in
Nintendo Power, we have yet to see since
there has not been the new issue yet. If you
don't believe that, then why believe other
sites like GoNintendo? Or that actual
magazine itself which has that very same
print and is making the claim
While we have claimed a Smrpg remake in
the past, please note the date: April 1. Not
only should one note the date, they should
read the updates in the past that were after
it, telling of how it was a joke. And for
the Virtual Console: It was announced. If
not, why then does IGN have a page for it?
Why have other sites besides Smrpglegacy
reported it?! One has to find these things
out before criticizing a specific component
of the information
The fact of the matter is that we
actually are a highly credible source. I
don't say this because I feel the need to
defend it, I say it just based on our track
record. Every piece of news I get I try to
confirm with Nintendo. If it's a rumor, I
say so. Other than an occasional joke,
generally on April 1st, we tell everything
and anything we know. If that was the case,
our content would not be as accurate as it
is.
We are very accurate and try to be with
the best of our ability. Those who check
Super Mario Legacy and then forget to
re-check it need to do so, because that
report does not represent this site. Yes, I
run them both. Yes, their names and concepts
are similar. No, they are not the same.
Whether or not people want to believe is
their own issue. I cannot force anyone to
believe anything, I can only say what I know
to be fact. Occasionally I have some fun,
but that's all it is, fun. It comes to no
harmful expense to the visitors of the site,
and I will continue to post the way I have
been for 4 years.
And with that said, I'm hoping the people
claiming are credibility to be in the red
will take some time, look through other
updates and other sites, and will then
reform their opinion.
And watch the video with Brambles posted
before (Despite not liking the remix
particularly, I'm still nutty over the idea
of Brambles in Super Smash Bros. Brawl)
Brambles (Stickerbrush Symphony) Spotted!
Posted by Super Mallow on 1.30.08
Yes, we're updating on Brambles. We don't
cover Brawl, we don't cover Donkey Kong.
But it's Brambles.
For those who don't know, I'm literally a
walking dictionary on Brambles - the levels,
the music, whatever. I consider Brambles to
be the greatest composed song (the actual
song is caleld Stickerbrush Symphony) of all
time. There were 2 things I wanted in Brawl:
Geno, Brambles.
With that said, I have literally searched
all day for this video. It has been driving
me nuts, but I found it.
That's what I've been
waiting for, at least for a few months.
Actually, probably years I've been waiting
for it to pop again. Honestly, I do not
think it's that great of a remix. Yes, the
strings sound nice, but other than the
beginning and end, it's NOT Brambles. It's
some melody they made and imposed it over
Brambles' constant background theme. The
beginning and end are where the actual
Brambles theme is completely recognizable.
Also, why speed it up? It's meant to be a
slow, melodious song, not a fast paced one.
I can understand a little, but it seems to
sped up
I don't know, I was just
expecting a killer remix, not one I could
find at a Vgmix site or an OcRemix site.
Really, they took the background theme and
closed it out, they just rewrote the entire
middle portion of it.
Yes, it's bothering me that
much. Other than those two things, Brawl to
me was blah. With all the clones, I don't
see it being better than Melee right now.
Dave Wise...where were you
to do this instead of another person
remixing your song?
Breaking Brawl News! (READ THOROUGHLY)
Posted by Super Mallow on 1.30.08
Smrpglegacy has some breaking news on Super
Smash Bros. Brawl and Geno. This post
contains spoilers, so read on at your own
risk. If you read it, read the whole thing
Smrpglegacy has just learned that Geno was
indeed a playable character in Brawl and was
removed. We do not know why he was removed,
but I've heard that it was due to a
copyright claim from Square-Enix.
Geno was going to appear on the last
column under Snake and Sonic and was going
to be the last third party character.
Sources tell us that he was dropped in late
November from this copyright claim which
resulted in Brawl's first delay. We can only
imagine this is what caused it.
There is very little evidence on Geno,
but we have managed to get some information.
We know that Geno's moves would be similar
to those as his "Special" moves in Super
Mario RPG. He was going to have Geno Beam
and Geno Whirl as regular moves, each doing
around 20% per hit, give or take the
directness of the hit. We know that his up-B
was going to be improvised in a manner
similar tot hat of Sheik. While he had high
attacking power, his defense was less than
stellar. Here is the list of moves he was
going to have - how they were applied no one
knows:
-Geno Beam
-Geno Whirl
-Geno Blast
-Double Punch
-Star Gun
-A single attacking arm, similar to his
un-armed attack in Smrpg
-Regular aerial attacks in terms of arm and
body movement.
We do have information on his Final
Smash. It was actually quite a surprise:
Geno, Final Smash <Landmaster
Tank>
Ok, in all seriousness,
that's a joke. For those who don't know, and
this will be the actual spoiler, there's 3
of the same characters in terms of a move
set and Final Smash: Fox, Falco, Wolf. It's
becoming a huge internet joke - so much so
that I couldn't resist posting it. Many
people think that the roster is
significantly disappointing, mostly because
of the lack of Geno. I thought that a joke
might take some of the Geno stuff out of
people's mind.
But there is news actually.
I said I would cover Brambles despite it not
being Mario RPG, and I'm doing it. The first
10 seconds has been revealed in the
following video at 3:30
Putting the Rumors to Bed
Posted by Super Mallow on 1.30.08
While we don't cover Brawl, we do cover
everything related to Mario RPG in it that's
part of the mainstream game. If you haven't
read the last 2 updates, read those first
and then finish up with this one.
It's
time to put those rumors to bed. As I
expected along with some other people I talk
to, the information provider by "ChaosZero"
was completely false. I actually only posted
it just because anything was believable at
the time of the massive flooding of news.
I know this because the real ChaosZero,
who's been accurate, posted at GameFaqs.Com,
confirming that Geno will not be playable
whatsoever. There's still some doubt as to
if he's an Assist Trophy in Super Smash
Bros. Brawl, but at this point, it's highly
unlikely.
If it's true, and we assume it is because
it is the real ChaosZero, we will not be
seeing Geno. We will not be seeing Paper
Mario as a playable character either.
Just when we thought it was the stepping
stone for a remake or sequel...
More Paper Mario/Geno In Brawl Info?
Posted by Super Mallow on 1.29.08
4 updates, 2 days. I am appalled at myself!
Anyways, if you haven't heard the news, read
the last 2 updates. If you have, well, we
may have some more?
Because of the way I am, I refuse to give
up on a story till it is proven or
disproven, so I may be getting used here for
kicks, or it may be legit. ChaosZero has
reported the following about Super Smash
Bros. Brawl to Smrpglegacy:
-The 35 character roster is confirmed,
but the number is only relevant before the
first delay
-The number increases to 38. Apparently, 3
characters were added during all the delays
-Out of these 3 characters, they are he
hardest to unlock during the game.
-Out of these three characters, 1 is region
exclusive, such as seperate Jap/Us/Eur
character
-Paper Mario is a playable character
-Geno is an Assist Trophy
That's all she wrote. Again, this could
be real, but it could be fake. no proof has
been provided, and it may just be someone
using the ChaosZero name. However, with the
flooding (not just leaking) of news, it's
worth posting.
Geno's Voice In Brawl?
Posted by Super Mallow on 1.29.08
Believe it, Smrpglegacy is actually alive
and well like we used to be!
Some
interesting news here. If you haven't read
the last update, it's about Geno and Paper
Mario in Brawl. Well, it looks like there is
further "confirmation" on it.
The Internet Movie Database (IMBD) has
listed Geno and Paper Mario as a character
via voices. Apparently, the person who does
Ness's voice will do Geno's, and Charles
Martinet will do Paper Mario's voice. The
link is
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0928380/fullcredits#cast
I don't know how accurate IMDB is, but
I'm just calling it as I see it. We'll keep
up to date as much as possible on the Mario
RPG-Brawl Interlink
(And Brambles. Can't forget Brambles.)
Paper Mario Brawl, Geno Assist Trophy?
Posted by Super Mallow on 1.28.08
2 updates in 1 day. Wow, it's been a while
since that happened. The following is
STRICTLY A RUMOR AT THIS POINT WITH NO
OFFICIAL NINTENDO CONFIRMATION. If true, it
contains Super Smash Bros. Brawl spoilers.
Smrpglegacy (and only us at this point) has
learned from "ChaosZero" that Paper Mario
will be a playable character in Brawl. Geno
will be an Assist Trophy, Mallow will be a
regular trophy. Hooktail, Bowser, and some
other Paper Mario characters will also be
Assist Trophies.
And that's the leak. Now, before everyone
gets excited, let me first say 2 things:
1) I don't know if this is real.
ChaosZero gave us the information. After
asking BrawlCentral.Com (free shoutout,
when's the last time I did that?!?!), I was
told he predicted the Stage Editor and the
Dragoon item with 100% accuracy and that he
can be considered credible to a certain
extent.
2) With that in mind, I do not know if
this is the actual ChaosZero and if his
information is correct. It may be someone
just looking to pull one over on us, and if
that's the case, well, then they got their
15 minutes of fame through our homepage.
If this is true, then there's at least
Super Mario RPG in Brawl. At the same time,
this effectively kills Geno off as a
playable character. The game is out in a few
days, we'll know then. It can be discussed
in the
Message Board
which was reopened last week!
Well, if you haven't heard about the
supposed Geno trophy found in Super Smash
Bros. Brawl, you're about to. Everyone is
speculating about what this trophy could be.
Below is the YouTube video.
Skip ahead to 1:57 and look
on the bottom right corner of the screen
where Diddy is. That's supposedly where the
Geno trophy is. At this point, not only is
it nearly too small to tell, there's also
the fact that there could be hundreds of
things it could be.
Yup, further perpetuating
the conspiracy are we. If it is him, well,
then at least there's something of Smrpg in
the game. If it's not, well, let's still
hope for him as a playable character!
Square Considers Super Mario RPG Ds
Posted by Super Mallow on 1.27.08
Some very large news regarding a Super Mario
RPG remake in terms of potential.
According to IGN's Podcast "Wii-K In Review"
Episode 43, the reason that Super Mario RPG,
which was rated by the ESRB as a Virtual
Console re-release nearly a year ago, has
not been released on the Virtual Console is
because Square-Enix has the mindset that
they could make more money by remaking it on
the Nintendo Ds and sell hundreds of
thousands of copies.
Haven't we been saying that exact same
thing for 5 years now?!?! Who know, more and
more we keep hearing about possible sequels,
possible remakes, and Geno in Super Smash
Bros. Brawl....Super Mario RPG is coming
back on the scene and in a big way. This
really strengthens the outlook on any of
those few things.
I'll keep up with it and find out
anything I can. I'll try and get a response
or comment out of Nintendo, but I don't know
how that'll go.
In the meantime and from the last update,
the
Message Board
is back! We've actually had some activity,
but we haven't had posts, just a lot of
traffic.
Maybe...just maybe our efforts will bring
their rewards...
Old School: The Board is Back!
Posted by Super Mallow on 1.23.08
Well, this is a complete shocker: The
Message Board
is back! I do not know why I opened it up
after a year randomly, I just did.
In
reality, we're in need of new posters. None
of the old ones will be notified, let's
start fresh but keep the numbers. If some
realize it is open and come back, all the
better -- I'm just not bulk emailing
everyone!
In other news: We will be going through
some changes (hopefully)...my target date is
February 30 for it to be up. More details in
the weeks to come
Potential Super Mario RPG Ds Confirmation?
Posted by Super Mallow on 1.12.08
Another interesting story, this time
courtesy of Nintendo Power.
Apparently, there will be a new RPG game
announced in next month's issue, but what
could it be? After RPG Magazine's rumors
that happened a month ago, it seems like it
could be Super Mario RPG Ds or Golden Sun 3.
Of course, it could be others, but one has
to wonder what ever happened to those
rumors, considering they were never denied
or confirmed.
Below is the excerpt from Nintendo Power:
Next month’s cover story is an RPG so
fantastic, so engrossing, so epic, and so
hush-hush that we’d have to erase your
memories if we told you what it is. In fact,
maybe we already did. Role-playing fans, get
ready for a big one.
So, who knows? It could be something
completely different, it could be something
we've hoped and worked on for years now.
I'll try to find out anything more that I
can.
A New Year...
Posted by Super Mallow on 1.10.08
First update of the new year!
Well, it
turned out that the Super Mario RPG Virtual
Console thing was indeed a rumor, we're all
still awaiting it's arrival on the Virtual
Console. Hopefully it'll come out early in
the year.
Other than that, there's no real site
related news. A second Super Smash Bros.
Brawl/Square-Enix piece will be coming on
Super Mario Legacy in the upcoming week or
so, but other than that, there's hardly
anything to update on right now!
Super Mario RPG VC?
Posted by Super Mallow on 12.28.07
Some interesting news that came through to
me today.
Apparently, there's a general thinking that
Super Mario RPG will be released this
Monday, December 31, seeing as it's the last
day of 2007.
Is it true? I have no idea. I'm just posting
what I've heard. I'm pretty sure this is
false, but who knows? We'll keep up with the
story
Merry Christmas; Up and
Running
Posted by Super Mallow on 12.25.07
We're up and running once more! I ended up
getting a new laptop after my old one busted
and am using a free trial of Microsoft's
Expression Web to do this update! Everything
should be fine for right now, I just need to
get used to it.
In the meantime, Merry Christmas to
everyone, or any other holiday that you
celebrate! Enjoy the presents!
Well...
Posted by Super Mallow on 12.13.07
Just a quick update here, more of a personal
one.
My computer has completely busted and I'll
be taking it in shortly after this update.
This will leave me unable to do any work or
update the site.
With that, I'll be unable to receive email
or respond to any email I get. If you need
to contact me, head on over to the Message
Board - I'll still be active there.
If there is any Super Mario RPG Ds or Geno
in Super Smash Bros. Brawl news, I'll will
post it there!
Geno Rumored In Brawl, Part 2
Posted by Super Mallow on 12.12.07
Ah, it's going to be another fun week with
this news...
Anyways, Geno has once again been rumored in
Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This time, it was
from a "Prima Games Graphic Designer" - note
the quotes; it hasn't been confirmed.
So, who knows, let's see what comes out of
this...
Rumor Revisions / Super Mario RPG Ds
Posted by Super Mallow on 12.7.07
I think that this rumor became bigger than
it needed to...
Anyways, that's all it was: A rumor. I've
contacted many different sources trying to
get more info, and it appears it's just a
rumor.
What I do want to say is this: Never did we
start this, and never did we say it was
true, as in the last update. I've received
too many emails asking me where I found out
the information.
Those "sources"? Simply other
Nintendo/Gaming site webmasters emailing me
with the story, as well me having contact
with other sites. I didn't know their
credibility since none of them had a source
within their story. My guess is that most of
these sites got the rumor from the same
source, as it seem many sites did.
Anyways, this does not kill off the "Geno in
Brawl" concept either - there's still a
while before everything is released or if he
may be in the game and not revealed. There's
still a chance.
As far as the Super Mario RPG Ds concept:
This is very much alive. I've seen a lot of
forum posts out there saying that we are
just lying about this, but that's not the
case. For those who don't know, RPG
Magazine, a French gaming publication, was
the first to report it.
I got in contact with Nintendo and they did
not deny it, nor would they confirm it. I
also got in contact with Square-Enix, and
they said that Square-Enix of Japan will
decide when to confirm or dispel the rumor.
So, I just wanted to clear up everything. We
will continue to follow these two stories,
mainly because I'm waiting for a reply from
Nintendo on the Brawl story. Neither is
dead, neither is true.
But anyways...rumors have started that Geno
is too be announced sometime this week,
apparently tomorrow. I've heard this from 2
or 3 different sources, though I take no
claim in knowing their credibility
This correlates perfectly with the still
un-denied report of a Super Mario RPG Sequel
on the Ds. For those who do not know, I
contacted Nintendo, and they have not denied
it - in fact, they've done some things with
my email as far as I know.
Another thing for those who don't come here
often: Smrpg Legacy translated the character
request page and thousands, just from us,
sent in their suggestions, as well as
millions of others. If this is true, it's
another success for us!
But, like I said, I know no credibility of
the sources. When I came out with the report
of Square-Enix in Brawl, I did it based on 3
weeks of research. I still stand by it, and
that is credible. However, I did not know
what would be included. As far as I know,
this is just a rumor; there is no
confirmation
But if it is true, remember who said Square
was involved first... (My attempt at saying
I was right, =P)
A sequel + Geno....man, now all we need is
Mallow!
Super Mario RPG 2 Rumored!
Posted by Super Mallow on 11.23.07
Well, I don't really know what to say right
now...
Super Mario RPG 2 has been rumored in RPG
Magazine's issue number 5. It would be
created by Square-Enix and would feature a
heavy Final Fantasy influence. It would be
on the DS
Below is the direct translation:
Square-Enix is considering bringing back
Super Mario RPG by making a sequel on the
DS. The sequel would include more characters
from the Final Fantasy universe.
Really, I am and yet, am not in shock...I
mean, we all knew that it was popular, but
really, after all these years of petitioning
and such, a lot of us never thought it would
actually happen.
Could this be due to our efforts? I really
hope so. Remember, we did, after the DS was
released, petition and email for a Super
Mario RPG DS. Man, it would just be a dream
come true to have something to do with a new
Super Mario RPG, wouldn't it? I would love
to head such a project, the results could be
amazing.
(I'll stop there with what would be a dream
come true! I'm ranting a bit, I'm just that
excited!)
Anyways, it's rumored right now. I'm trying
to contact a lot of people right now for
more information. I am making this a top
priority, and I will try to find out as much
as possible! For any news or comments, just
email me!
I will be adding a section to the navigation
bar for this later on today or tomorrow
Clean Up
Posted by Super Mallow on 11.5.07
It's been another long span without an
update, and I apologize for that. I actually
had an update posted, but the server didn't
process it, and it didn't go through.
Anyways, I've cleaned up a lot of
affiliates, links, and broken links.
I've received a few emails on The Revival
(check last update) and I'm still deciding
what to do. It would be a long project, so
if I start it, I have to know I'm going to
finish it.
So, we'll see soon what happens!
Some News: The Revival?
Posted by Super Mallow on 10.12.07
Has it been a month since the last update?
Yes. Is that a good thing? No
Truth be told, it's my fault, all of it. I
need to start working on the site more.
Anyways, I've got some site news this time.
First off, I'll be cleaning out the
affiliates and links - meaning, those who do
not link us back will be removed.
Secondly, I'm thinking about adding some
more Super Mario RPG content. Believe it or
not, I have more. I'm also thinking of some
Paper Mario Content with some Super Paper
Mario Content...I haven't uploaded any of
the pieces I've completed
Third and most importantly, I think I'm
going to enact what I call "The Revival" -
if you're a member of the Message Board, you
may know what I'm talking about. If not,
it's exactly what the name says: a revival.
I think a lot of people would like what it
would be. There's no guarantee this'll
happen
So, in the meantime, no new content, nor any
significant changes. I'll try to start
updating more often and I apologize for the
lack of updates
Another Link And an Update
Posted by Super Mallow on 9.5.07
It's been too long. I've really let all of
you guys down by not updating on a
consistent basis. I need to pick it up, I
realize that.
In the meantime, we have a new
Link! It's
Luigi's Shack, which was at one time an
affiliate of ours. Go on and give them a
look over!
New Link!
Posted by Super Mallow on 8.10.07
Well, it's been too long since the last
update. Actually, I was unable to update 2
weeks ago because my host went stupid with
their server and it wasn't updated.
Anyways, we have a new
Link! It's
a Daisy fan site.
Other than that, there's not a whole lot
going on
Paper Mario Released!
Posted by Super Mallow on 7.16.07
Time to relive a classic. Paper Mario was
released today on the Virtual Console for
1000 Wii Points! If you've never played it
before, now's your perfect chance!
And of course, if you've played it before
you can always relive it!
Super Mario RPG Legacy Turns 4!
Posted by Super Mallow on 7.9.07
It's the time of the year again! July 9th is
always a special day. Why? It was the day
the site was started!
This time, we're celebrating our
4th birthday! It's true, it
hasn't been the great of a year compared to
previous years, but it still hasn't been
bad.
No one at the Message Board realized it...as
expected. I don't know of anyone else that
realized it ether
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Enemies!
Posted by Super Mallow on 7.4.07
Well, it has been a little while since the
last update. I had some troubles with some
things, and I couldn't update
I went back and did a large Paper Mario:
TTYD page. I added the complete
Enemies
list!
I'm still working on some Super Paper Mario
pages, so hopefully some more of those will
be up soon!
The Entire List
Posted by Super Mallow on 6.17.07
I promised I would add something gigantic,
and I have delivered
Say hello to our entire
Super Paper Mario
Catch Cards list! It took me so
long to get all that info and took me hours
to record.
And I have another giant Super Paper Mario
page to add as well!
Super Paper Mario Info!
Posted by Super Mallow on 6.8.07
Well, we're back. Miss us?
Truth is, my computer's screen busted, so I
was out of a computer for the last 2 weeks.
It was a terrible time too, because I was
going to add a gigantic list of useful
information to the Super Paper Mario section
Well, we are back, and we're going to try
and start the largest event in the history
of the Mario community!
SmrpgSequel.Com
is where it's at! We're going for 50,000
signatures on the petition. Of course, that
will be difficult, and we need others to
sign it and spread the word. So, if you can,
please help with that.
And Mr. X of the Message Board made a
YouTube video for the campaign!
If you have a Wii, get the game, it's
fantastic. I still have yet to beat it.
Actually, I'm not even halfway through, I
haven't played it in the last 3 days because
of some nice college papers I have to fill
out.
But we're back, that's the good thing. I've
considered doing something big, but I do not
know if I'll be able to accomplish it, so
more will come on that!
We're Back!
Posted by Super Mallow on 3.6.07
We are back. It's been a little while, hasn't
it?
We were gone to due some lovely new files
that someone put in my account. It gave my
host problems, and the account had to be
suspended
Well, we're back. With the upcoming release
of Super Paper Mario (April 9) less than a
month away, a lot of new possibilities open
up. Also, I've been on a Paper Mario: The
Thousand-Year Door marathon (Don't ask, long
story!), so it's very possible I may make
some pages on it
Well, the site for a True Super Mario RPG
Sequel is up! Click the banner to get there
for a lot of good info on how we can obtain
a Super Mario RPG Sequel.
Oh yeah, you know, that game coming out for
the Wii, Super Paper Mario? April 9th, so
look forward to that!
(And of course, check out Smrpg Sequel, sign
the petition, and look around!)
Super Paper Mario Screenshots!
Posted by Super Mallow on 2.3.07
Well, the site for a True Super Mario RPG
Sequel is up! Click the banner to get there
for a lot of good info on how we can obtain
a Super Mario RPG Sequel.
As for the site, well, I've added a bunch of
Super Paper Mario Screenshots. They can be
found under the Wii section at
www.supermariolegacy.com!
Super Paper Mario!
Posted by Super Mallow on 1.28.07
I just keep neglecting the site, and I
apologize. Super Mario Legacy for me is
going so well right now, and I'm really
putting effort into that
However, I got some Super Paper Mario info
for you guys. First off, it's going to be
released in April of this year.
Secondly, it might be a little different
than you think. It's use of the Wii Remote
is not like that of current games - instead,
you turn it sideways, using the 1 and 2
buttons as jump and such. This seems that it
will give the game an element of gameplay
like the Super Mario Bros. series and other
traditional Mario side-scrollers
As for the site, there's actually new
content! We now offer Super Mario RPG
Videos! Actually, it's just one so far, but
it can be found at
www.supermariolegacy.com!
Smrpg Sequel / Game videos
Posted by Super Mallow on 1.11.07
Well, it has been a long time, but surprise:
I'm actually doing something for the site.
Videos. Not quite yet, but there'll be some
videos coming soon. So far, I recorded the
Super Mario RPG Opening, but it is not
available. It should be soon.
Also, new site! I've dedicated a site to a
Super Mario RPG Sequel!
Smrpg Sequel will also become an Affiliate
soon.
Be sure to check it out and get ready for
it. I haven't done any work on it yet, but I
will soon
Merry Christmas!
Posted by Super Mallow on 12.25.06
Christmas time is finally here! It's always
a good day on Christmas
Hopefully everyone will get what they asked
for and will enjoy the day.
And of course, if you celebrate any other
holiday other than Christmas, we wish you
the best during that time.
Please click the banner or go to the
Wii Drive 2006

and give these kids a better Christmas than
they were expecting. PayPal has been set up

Also, sorry for the lack of updates...Wii
drive 2006 is important to me, and it's my
prime concern right now.
Wii Drive 2006 (2)

This is a very important announcement.
It's Christmas time soon...we need your
help. We're trying to raise money to give
sick kids a Wii. We cannot do this without
you.

Not Going Anywhere
Posted by Super Mallow on 11.21.06
Well, I hope everyone was pleased with the
news of the remake.
At the same time, I think everyone
misunderstood the last part of the latest
update. I never said we were closing, I just
said the site was now in a state in which it
could die
We're not going anywhere. We're not closing,
so don't worry so much about it.
If you were a member of the forums, you
might recall that I have Smrpg Legacy paid
for until July 2008.
I just thought that everyone should know
about it, a lot of people emailed me about
it
BREAKING NEWS!
Posted by Super Mallow on 11.8.06
As you can tell, SUPER MARIO RPG HAS BEEN
ANNOUNCED AS A DOWNLOADABLE TITLE FOR THE
WII'S VIRTUAL CONSOLE!
This is great news for fans, we'll get the
remake.
As for the site...well, it's time: Smrpg
Legacy can finally die with whatever shred
or respect and dignity it has left. We tried
for over 4 years...I see no reason to keep
the site up
I actually found out this news as it
broke...I just didn't have time to update.
Please source this if you use the news.
Paper Mario Mp3's
Posted by Super Mallow on 10.23.06
Not quite a month this time since I last
updated. And I got some good stuff for
everyone
The whole Paper Mario soundtrack is once
again downloadable! Details can be found by
going to the
Paper Mario GMS
page!
And now for the bad news. Well, not bad yet.
The goal has been posted. Starting tomorrow,
there's exactly 1 week for the forum to
reach 75,000 total posts, which means 8000
more or it closes. And the site somewhat
goes as the forums do - if the forums do
bad, the site won't be in very good shape
now, would it?
So, we're always looking for people to join
and post. It be great to help us out and be
a part of the community.
Also, even though the forums are kind of
slow, the site's activity has really picked
up. There's a positive to take from this
update, as well as the Mp3's returning.
Elemental Desires
Posted by Super Mallow on 10.15.06
It's been almost a month since an update,
and I apologize. Normally, this wouldn't
happen.
But, in the meantime, I've been doing some
things online. First off, I found a lot of
my old friends online, mainly Starry, Exlax,
and Grinlax. You wouldn't know who I'm
talking about unless you wewre at the old
Sotss Invision board, but I feel it's worth
a mention
Secondly, and what has taken up most of my
time is Elemental Desires. The name is kind
of like Ultimate Abyss, as in, it's a new
version. Well, not for this site, it's for
my second site: Super Mario Legacy,
www.supermariolegacy.com
I just thought everyone should know. In the
meantime, expect the forums to close soon
because no one really wants to be active
there. Also, some of this content has been
moved to Super Mario Legacy - as in, it's
been retyped better over there.
Most of my effort is directed towards Super
Mario Legacy and getting that site bigger.
Until then...well...this site is kind of
second in my mind right now, work wise.
Super Mario RPG Sequel
Posted by Super Mallow on 9.21.06
Well, it's been 4 years for the Smrpg remake
campaign
Now, we're still doing it, but we're
expanding. Smrpg Legacy has started the
Super Mario RPG Sequel campaign!
Please help! Hopefully we can convince
Square-Enix/Nintendo to make a true sequel!
Also, on another note. I've noticed some new
files appearing on the site. I'm thinking
it's a hacker, which really doesn't bother
me. But if you see the site change or
whatever, well, then you know why
Smrpg MP3's!
Posted by Super Mallow on 9.14.06
Nintendo had a major press conference today.
Wii's price is 250$ and will be available on
the 19 of November.
Problem with that...only 30 virtual console
games will be available to start, and ten
more each month. This means Super Mario RPG
may not be on there for a very long time, if
not at all
So, the time has come. With this info in
mind, why not shoot for a Super Mario RPG
remake on the DS? It makes more sense than
it has forever
So, we need your help. Any Smrpg fan, and
Mrpg fan. Please click the image or go to
this page:
Help Wanted!
In fact, I've already done something for
everyone...Smrpg Mp3's are now available for
download again.
Ultimate Abyss
Posted by Super Mallow on 9.2.06
Well, here it is. Version 7: Ultimate Abyss.
The name's random, but I decided to give it
some sort of title.
I went with a Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year
Door theme this time. Originally, I was going to
have a TTYD/Smrpg mix, but with the
different styles of artwork, it didn't look
nearly as good as it does now..
Anyways, for the changes. There isn't a
whole lot content wise, but some things
might be a little bit more snug. With that
spacing, we don't have as much room for the
game information tables. It seems like we
have more, but we really don't. A Super
Mario RPG DS remake image has been added to
the bottom of the nav bar, as well as the
History link
Special thanks to Masamune of
www.gamehiker.com
for helping me code the site. He's done a
lot for us since v4 with coding. I would
also like to thank
Elemental Temple for the inspiration. I
had this layout done, looks wise, a long
time ago. Originally, there was no
banner-content fade until I saw how they had
it on their site. I thought it looked so
nice, I tried it myself (They always have
great layouts).
The colors are a mixture of Version 6,
Version 3 and my new site, Super Mario
Legacy (www.supermariolegacy.com).
The background is the same color, and the
content area is a color similar to my other
site.
I had some problems with the coding of the
links when renaming the Index.PHP file. If
there's something wrong, please tell me
about it so I can fix it!
I'd love to know what you think about this
new version. Please let me know! Enjoy!
